What Does Publish Without Permission Mean?
Basically, It Encourages Writers To Stop Waiting For The Perfect Time, Perfect Manuscript, or Anyone’s Approval.
The title of my new book is Publish Without Permission.
It’s still about four weeks from publication, but I’ve put a great deal into it and want to introduce the idea in advance. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about the Publish Without Permission approach and how it can help writers move their work into the hands of readers.
Publish Without Permission means taking responsibility for your work and sharing it with the world without waiting for approval from gatekeepers, critics, publishers, agents, or anyone else.
If you’ve written a manuscript you want to share with the world, there is no need to wait for the perfect moment. The time to begin is now.
This doesn’t mean ignoring professional standards. It means refusing to allow fear, perfectionism, or the opinions of others to prevent you from finishing and publishing your work.
PDF eBooks provide a unique opportunity to publish without the involvement of traditional gatekeepers. They make the publishing process simpler and faster, but they are not the only option.
A writer can also publish Kindle books, paperbacks, hardcovers, and audiobooks. Websites, newsletters, and social media provide additional ways to connect directly with readers.
The goal is simple: create something people want to read, publish it, learn from the experience, improve your craft, and continue moving forward.
I encourage writers to consider PDF eBooks not only because they are easy to create and distribute, but also because they can serve as a practical test of an idea.
A PDF eBook can help you gauge reader interest and gather valuable feedback. Based on that experience, you can make a more informed decision about investing additional time and resources in Kindle editions, paperbacks, hardcovers, or other formats.
I’ll be sharing more about my new Publish Without Permission guide soon. Meanwhile, I welcome your questions and comments.
