A Small Change Coming to This Substack
Over the past months, this Substack has grown into something much broader than I originally planned
What began mostly as publishing discussions has gradually expanded into woodworking projects, life experiences, stories, relationships, independent publishing, and the practical lessons that connect all of them.
I appreciate every person who reads these posts, whether you’ve been here from the beginning almost three years ago or just recently subscribed.
One thing I’ve noticed recently is that many readers especially enjoy the woodworking posts and the detailed projects from my shop years. I’ve received more interest in those posts than I expected.
Because of that, I’ve decided to begin experimenting carefully with a paid subscriber section.
Regardless of the topic, most posts will remain completely free.
That is important to me and is not changing.
However, some of the more detailed woodworking material, including drawings, measurements, materials lists, construction notes, and project instructions, will gradually become available for paid subscribers.
Over time, I may also include additional behind-the-scenes publishing notes, PDF publishing resources, templates, and other practical material connected to the work I’ve done over the years.
My goal is not to hide everything behind a paywall.
Instead, I want to create a way for readers who find value in this work to support it while also receiving deeper, more detailed material in return.
At 87, I’m still writing, building, publishing, and learning every day.
If you enjoy these posts and would like to support the work, becoming a paid subscriber will help me continue creating and sharing new woodworking projects, publishing resources, stories, and practical guides.
At this stage of life, I’m still building, writing, learning, and publishing every day — and I appreciate everyone who chooses to follow along.
